Overview
Brush holders built for power-plant duty: exciter brush rigging on turbo generators (hydro, fossil, nuclear), synchronous and wound-rotor motors, and shaft-grounding systems. Compared with conventional spring-finger holders, these use constant-force springs that keep pressure uniform through the full brush wear cycle — extending brush life, distributing current evenly and eliminating selective action.
Key Features
- Constant-force spring — consistent brush-face pressure, no periodic tension adjustment
- Longer brush boxes — superior brush stability and longer brush life on high-speed turbo generators
- Built-in wear indicator (optional) — red "danger strip" for simple preventive maintenance
- Replaceable spring clips & adjustable mounting — lower-cost downtime and flexible retrofit
- Mount options: U-mount (tapered), turbine-style multiple-slot, single-pocket, bank-of-two, adjustable slip-ring holders
- 6 standard brush box sizes plus custom designs

Fitment
- Westinghouse AC generators and exciters (turbine-style / U-mount)
- GE exciters — U-mount, single-pocket and toe-to-toe upgrades; D12/D22/D32 constant-force arm assemblies
- Synchronous motors/generators, wound-rotor motors, slip-ring and shaft-grounding systems
- Turbo-generator collector rings — hydro, fossil, nuclear
- Fitment is per SKU — confirm brush box size, mount type, mounting pattern, ring diameter and spring force against your OEM holder
Maintenance Tips
- Verify spring force with a brush-holder digi-scale; replace springs when pressure falls below spec
- Use the wear indicator to schedule brush replacement before contact fails
- Keep collector rings clean and check for grooving/bluing — brush replacement alone won't fix ring damage
- Replace brushes in sets for even current distribution across the bank
